HAPPY 90TH PETER NICHOLSON The President, Committee and Members of the Southampton Shipping Golfing Society, express their cumulative greetings and felicitations to Peter Nicholson on his 90thbirthday. As a second-generation member of the Society, following in his father’s footsteps, he remains a key participating member. Having joined in 1960, become President in 1971, and despite his young age, his golfing ability is held in absolute awe by the current membership, who look forward to his continuing friendship. CURRENT NEWS Society Champion 2023 - Ian Ritchie A select ‘elite’ group of Past Presidents joined this year’s President, Peter Wintle, at Royal Winchester Golf Club, to do battle in the annual President’s Putter competition for the John Smith Challenge Cup. The ‘surprise’ winner of this year's competition was President Peter Wintle, who fought off a determined effort by the Past Presidents to overturn years of tradition. |
